Founded in 2007, it has been our goal to form an effective and diverse statewide political network for Michigan Republican Women. The Michigan Excellence in Public Service Series graduated our ninth class in 2020. Graduates of the series have gone on to be elected at the local and state levels, served in legislative offices, and have been appointees to boards at the state level.

In January of 2021, we were proud to have six of our graduates sworn in as state Representatives.   As we look towards the upcoming 2021 series, MEPSS will continue to offer premier leadership training for Republican women.

In Michigan, men make up 49% of the population and hold 63.5% of the seats in the state House and Senate.  And currently 36.5% of the Legislature is comprised of women from both parties.  There are 10 female senators – seven Democrats and three Republicans – and 42 representatives – 27 Democrats and 15 Republicans.  

As we look at the political landscape of the 2022 election cycle, we will see ten republican women termed out of the state house, five of them are MEPSS graduates.    As policy decisions continue to impact women, it is crucial the Republican Party has women ready and trained to fill those open seats in the state house in 2022.  The Michigan Excellence in Public Service Series wants to make sure CONSERVATIVE VOICES are heard.  MEPSS is the ONLY program in the state of Michigan training REPUBLICAN women to be leaders.

As we recruit for our 2021 series, we invite you to take a serious look at the MEPSS program.  We encourage you to join us on our next journey where you will meet, form relationships, and create a network of Republican women from across the state that will last a lifetime.

In addition to meeting some amazing women, you will have the opportunity to meet individuals who are highly regarded in their fields who volunteer their time to train and lead meaningful and insightful discussions at our weekend sessions.
